Student Leaders of Indiana (SLI) – is the IASC’s Summer Leadership Workshop/Camp. Held each July on the campus of Manchester University in North Manchester, SLI is the IASC’s most extensive and dynamic leadership development event.
Students actively discover what good leadership encompasses. Summer Workshop/Camp offers opportunities for student leaders to develop their leadership skills as well as their personal maturity. Camp embodies the basic philosophical belief of the IASC — through the empowerment of student leaders, we instill lifelong leadership skills.
Summer Workshop/Camp offers students in grades 5-12 training and experiences that will prepare them for their roles in Student Council and other leadership capacities. There are 4 levels of camp curriculum designed specifically for the level of the camper. Campers have adult supervision 24 hours a day. Camp staff is composed of dedicated educators and Student Council Advisers.
Summer Workshop/Camp provides campers with knowledge and confidence and, yes, FUN! Students will participate in challenges that develop and enhance team building skills with their councils and small groups. Students will participate in a variety of mini-workshops and breakout sessions.
Topics include: Goal Setting; Communication; Public Speaking; Group Process; Problem Solving; Organization; Inclusion; Tolerance & Diversity; Citizenship; Position Training; Project Planning; Team Building; Constitutions/By-Laws; Running meetings; Fund Raising; and much, much more!
Scholarships are available to campers from member schools.
